Canine Competition

Dogs go for the gold every day by playing hard. The Big Summer Games inspire us to kick it up a notch with some friendly competition. We’ve put together a list of dog-friendly activities to make your pup feel like a champion and prove he isn’t an ordinary underdog. Let the games begin!

Dog Agility Course

There are plenty of different ways to make a dog agility course and you can modify it based on the amount of space available. Your course could include jumping obstacles, tunnels, or even poles for your pup to weave in and out of.

Simon Says

Find out just how obedient your pup is. Give your pup commands (sit, stay, speak, paw, roll over) and see how many in a row he can get correct. It’s also a great way to freshen up your dog’s basic training.

Digging contest

It’s no question that dogs love to dig! Create a big enough space in your yard and burry your dog’s favorite TOY. Remember to keep a POCKET TOWEL  handy to clean those dirty paws once he finds the buried treasure.

Bobbing for Treats

Fill up a kiddie pool with water and place a few TOYS inside. Encourage your pup to try and grab them all.

Race

Nothing beats a good old-fashioned paw-race. Clear out an area in your backyard (make sure it’s fenced in) and have someone give the final countdown. Ready, set, go!

Frisbee toss

Toss a Frisbee to your pup and see how many he can snag in a row. To make it more challenging, throw it a little further each time.

Make sure to reward your dog after with a delicious treat for playing like a champion!
